2007 Winners
Stoke-on-Trent Museums Service won StoryQuest 2007. On a cold November night, against the backdrop of a tent in the shape of an iconic bottle oven, storyteller ‘Toby Jugg’ told tales of pottery industry workers in the traditional pottery dialect. His stories highlighted the city’s history as a thriving centre of the ceramic industry. We were impressed by their imaginative approach to storytelling and novel way of keeping Stoke-on-Trent’s heritage alive.
Their prize is a performance storytelling commission which will be developed and performed over 2008.
“We are thrilled to have won such a fantastic competition. It is so important for people to share stories and learn about their heritage through this oral tradition.”
Denise Lambert, Stoke-on-Trent Museums Service.
Details of the final performances will be listed as they become available.
Congratulations Stoke-on-Trent Museums Service!
