You are invited to create an event in your venue between the 27th October 2006 to the 17th December 2006, which celebrates stories told through the spoken word.
These stories may be traditional tales such as folk tales, fairy tales,
myths and epics; local stories and legends; jokes, sayings and proverbs
collected from your community or real life tales connected with your venue,
the events and people it has played host to or the artefacts it holds.
The stories might be connected to pictures or objects in your collection,
or they might be the sorts of stories that our ancestors at any period in
history might have heard, had they lived in your building.
Your event can be simple, or complex, it could take an hour, or a day or a
week, it could take place inside or outside, in galleries, teaching rooms
or even broom cupboards, it could be at the break of dawn or in the middle of the
night, it could involve banquets or lead to great inventions …wherever, whenever
and however you think a story might come to life and ignite imagination to maximum
effect.
